This is how Frosty came downstairs after being told to get dressed. He couldn't figure out why he had to change. "I like my boots they go EVERYTING! They do!" Who can argue with logic like that? You can thank Grandma Kathie for the fuzzy hat that was actually given to Cookie Monster for Christmas, however, Frosty believes it is his. Since it is most firmly planted on his head he's probably pretty correct in his assumption. I guess squatter's rights wins again.

Same Instructions Different Day
Posted by Frisbies Forever at 11:04 AM 2 comments
SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS
Ok, Forsty, get your little butt upstairs and get dressed, we have a big day today. This is how he comes down. So, though technically, he did dress himself and manipulated zippers and boots and underwear that I was impressed by, I was a little distressed by what he thought was proper attire for going to the bank. If you can't have a sense of humor about raising kids, you shouldn't be raising kids. I will spare you the pictures that led to this ensemble. Let's just say 3 big drawers emptied and when we get back he will be learning the fine art of folding and to properly hang dress shirts.

Missing Dad
Well, it's kind of odd how everything turns out, but EVERYTIME we are predicted with inclement weather my husband is gone or scheduled to be gone. It's really quite amazing. He can't possibly be planning it. I must just need more refining or something because I can't figure out why when the lights go out, when the heat goes out, water stops in the well I am stuck by myself. This time it was that the van left after we got home. It slid right down the driveway on the ice. It has been a long winter so far. We have gotten stuck in our driveway numerous times and had to punch the gas through the neighbors yard to get out and fly out onto our highway or we would have been stuck worse. It is always an adventure! I must admit, I am never bored. One of my mil's, this week has given me an incredible gift. Her family history! Even though I have been feeling kind of yucky, I have been able to do that and feel semi-productive. It is a HUGE book. This is so much fun trying to piece everyone together and see their lives, disappointments and triumphs. Seeing the tragedy in their lives and seeing them stand up and try again. We have have many things to post but I need to get ready for Scripture Study and I can't decide whether or not to post some of the really funny things that happened this week. I am not sure if I will have a couple of kids annoyed with me or not. Let's just say for sure, it's a good thing to build your vocabulary and KNOW what your saying and it is always a good idea to know what you are rhyming or things can turn bad and funny quickly!

Our Family
This is one of my favorite family pictures, it is taken on the steps of where my husband semi-proposed on our first date and told me he wanted to be with me forever. I have never seen a man so ready for marriage and so committed ever since. He is the most incredible man I have ever seen.

This was a trip we took to a really fun Halloween Town. We took a ghost train ride and were able to dress up and play lots of activities. We rode a trolley and went on a haunted carousel. It was awesome.

In the comparatively short time we have been married, it is amazing how much we have gone thorough and and overcome and the great joy we have found in our marriage.

Momsters Inc under Frisbie Construction

This is my most romantic husband on our first date. Someday if you have enough time I will tell you how he swept me off my feet and planned every detail to make it the most memorable and romantic date bar none. The lengths he goes to ensure that I am happy are incredible. I have never seen such devotion and my prayer is that my children can find spouses that have if but only a quarter of his chivalry and respect.

Introducing, Pickle. She will have to explain the whole gherkin-pickle reference. We do have delightful children. She is preparing to graduate and has the drive to succeed. She has brought up her grades so high that she has only A's & B's. She is on the fast track to a degree in Construction Management and has numerous letters of recommendations from Industrial Tech Teachers and those in the field. She has weighed heavily her talents and her desires and has wavered a bit in defining a major but has settled on Construction Management. She is excited to get underway. She counts down the days to when classes start. She has already completed a model house mostly by herself, complete with curtains and floor coverings relying on her sewing skills she has developed and has stretched her creativity in working for me as well in Pampered Chef and has become quite adept with gourmet recipes and classifies herself as a non-nutritional cook as her favorite dishes to prepare are all sugar. We had a bit of a scare with her and she had her first ultrasound a few days ago. She has been having gall bladder attacks. Usually this is only a problem in your 40's or after numerous children, but it can increase with a high fat and salt diet in your younger years. Even though her diet has changed drastically, she is still having effects of her previous diet. The Dr. says we can probably avoid surgery if she takes a medication that may be able to heal her. Anything that increases the likelihood of her not going under a knife makes me happy. All is well though. I will post some of the pictures again that I posted previously when I didn't know how to do it, so you will see some repeat entry's soon so others capture some of the pictures they desire.

Momsters Inc under Frisbie Construction
Introducing, Princess. She has set high goals for herself and has become pretty studious of late. She is our social butterfly and seeks to lift others. She has a welcoming smile and expansive hugs that can warm the coldest hearts. She seeks to lift others when they are hurting and likes to serve all she meets in some small way. She has a way with animals that she has developed from her youth. If she stays on the right track, she may just fulfill her dream of working with animals. Things are so changeable at this age, it is hard to see exactly what she will end up doing. Office work and drafting have a pull on her as well, not to mention counseling. This age is awsome because the whole world is right in front of you! If you can keep wise decisions as your anchor, the world blossoms at your feet.

Introducing, Mr. Know It All otherwise known as Sir Talks A Lot. He s your best reference for all things relating to WW2. Anything you want to know and a lot of things you don't. He can delve into the most minute details and keep talking for hours. He is like the energizer bunny that we. He does know a lot and constantly reads and ever increases his breadth of knowledge. He has incredible recall for details, well barring details about how he is supposed to help with dishes. Not any different from any other teenager who thinks they always have more to do than anyone else. I wish he could see how much he actually accomplishes though. He teaches us all so much.

Introducing, Soccer Angel. Sadly, a knee injury has kept her from returning to play but as her coach said, she is a natural. She can really hustle when the boys give her a chance. She has just started babysitting and is becoming so responsible in so many ways. She is learning her way around a kitchen and is accomplishing so many things. This girl is unstoppable. You would not believe how far she has come in such a relatively short period of time. She is becoming quite the scholar and has graduate school on her mind.

Introducing, Plan Bie! (Pronounced Plan B) This came from a discussion on how when I was re-married, my last name changed to Frisbie and my wonderful children took my old last name and morphed it into a whole new name and this dear child asked if she could have a name change to represent both her families. So she wants to be referred to as Planbie. Isn't that funny? She is our little peacemaker as well. She has deep and abiding loyalties and is able to see many sides of an issue and people. She is fun and happy and solid.

Introducing, Gherkin. This is our bright spot in a world full of sunshine. She loves to make people laugh and come up with new ways to express herself. She was born in the wrong decade however, she is a flower child, with a bit of 80's thrown in. The 80's will never die as long as she is around. She can bring a smile to anyone's face.

Introducing Cookie Monster! She has the deepest, loudest voice for such a petite girl. She is the one who doesn't like to eat unless it is cookies, cakes, pies, ice cream or fast food. It's not that she doesn't like to eat, she just has better things to do. None of them important enough to warrant hurrying up so she can get away from the table. She'll get it.

Introducing our youngest, otherwise known as Puppy. This is one of his favorite words. He says it all the time. We do not have a puppy. I'm not sure how he came up with it. It's so cute though. He is the sweetest, cuddliest little guy and very independent.

Super Survey Thanks Amanda!
A Super Survey
Getting to know ME
Where were you born? Waterloo, Black, Iowa, USA (Sorry Family History)
Middle name: Dee
How old will you be this year? 36. Of course, I have been calling myself 36 for the last year because I don't like "5" numbers. I like 6's. Maybe because I am child #6, who knows?
Nicknames: My Beautiful Wife, Mommy, Guru of Motherdom, Lori, Zorianne, Me and a few you all will never be privy too!
Are you taller than your mother or father? Mom. She's a shorty.
Do you cry in movies? Of course!!!
What is your biggest pet peeves? I have a couple, people who snoop, and lie about it. People who gossip and hurt others to make themselves feel better and SELFISHNESS!! Ooh, that makes me so annoyed. Get over yourself!
Favorite color: Purple!
Favorite foods: Cheesecake, Lasagna, I like all kinds of food as long as I can tweak it.
Favorite Beverage: Water, Skim Milk and Sprite
Favorite cold cereal: Peanut Butter Cap'n Crunch
Favorite smells: Vanilla scents, My husband, and SNUGGLE, or maybe I just like the bear, I am a little crazy that way.
Favorite time of day: Anytime all my family is home. I love all the chatter and discoveries and hugs and kisses. It is the BEST to get to be a Mom.
Favorite make-up products? Clinique and Maybelline. Odd combo isn't it?
How many pillows do you sleep with? 2 normally, pregnant, I build my own bunker.
Do you play an instrument? I play the piano, a little.
Have you ever been skinny dipping? Isn't that a little personal?
Did you do any sports in High School? I am NOT a sporty type chick! I am more creative and not competitive. I like to see everyone happy. Does not bode well with the "I Win!" Mentality.
What was the last movie you saw in the theater? Hitch with my husband. It was actually pretty funny, but that was a long time ago wasn't it? Oops, we should probably get out more.
What is your favorite article of clothing? My pumps.
What was your first impression of your spouse? Oh, now THAT is worth telling, but only in private with lots of time on your hands.
What is your favorite "me- time" activity? Reading, blogging, cooking, snuggling with family.
Favorite TV shows? Actually, sorry all you fans out there, TV annoys me. I would rather do something. It interferes with my train of thought and makes it hard to hear my kids... I would rather do something myself or be with others. When I did use to watch tv I did like Law & Order and Trading Spaces, but I may not even like those anymore.
What is your dream car? 1969 Camaro if I had to choose, but I have too many priorities and things that are more important than a car. Please, you drive it. Now if you can teach me how to blink my family places so we don't have to waste time, I would be impressed by that.
What is one of your weaknesses? Wanting to be accepted by people I never will be. Don't even know why I care.
What do you fix for dinner when there's nothing to fix? If there was nothing to fix, how could you fix it?
If you could live in a different decade/era which one would it be? 1800's hands down. That would be so much fun and hard. Since that is not possible, my husband is going to hand carve a sleigh for me. Someday.
What is the emotion you feel the most? Peace. That is the best. Knowing I have done my best and all will be well.
Do you consider yourself outgoing? Only if I have to be. Honestly, I would much rather someone strike up a conversation with me. Then, I will talk A LOT.
What is something you are constantly working on? Family History, getting my family organized with something they can keep up.
Any hidden talents? I don't like to brag unless it's about my kids.
What is a word or phrase you overuse? Like, I don't know. No one tells me anymore, so I am probably just oblivious.
What was the hardest thing that happened to you this past year? I can't really talk about it. Sum it up as a disloyalty. Nothing unforgivable or that bad.
What is the best thing that happened to you this past year? Everyday I have with my family. The rest is just frosting.
What is one thing you hope to accomplish this year? Organizing my business to take some pressure off my incredible, amazing and adorable husband.
The best piece of advice you learned this past year? When trials press upon you and you don't know what to do, hit the floor, say a prayer and get up there's work to do. Give often of yourself, of this you won't regret. Expect nothing in return, rewards will be heaven sent. This is a rhyme I made up for me. It's my best advice yet.

These are portions of our house
To remove guilt I am throwing a bone to those who keep requesting pictures of our house and major changes made. I will take better pictures later, I just forget when it would be appropriate. I will try to do better but it at least gives you a small idea. More trim and everything is on now. Floors are all stained red mahogany. Someday it will all be finished. It is true though, if you really want to see if you are celestial material, move your family into a construction zone and try not to let it disrupt their lives much. See how it changes everything. You would be amazed. Being the gushy sap that I am, it makes me cry sometimes walking around the house at night seeing the house afresh with the lights off and quiet because everyone is sleeping in their beds and seeing their handiwork and my husbands incredible restraint as he does things sometimes 2 and 3 times because little feet went skating across his polyurethane and he had to start over again. Someday he will admit how funny that was seeing little feet walking backwards and then doing the splits but not falling. Oh, what I wouldn't give to have seen those eyeballs! Oh crap! I'm in trouble now! We only saw the footprints though. What an adventure this old house has been!

This is harder than it looks. It was fun and we learned a lot. Dad learned patience, we learned skills.

Guilty as charged
So we are watching a soccer game and the natives are restless. So we let them sit in the carseat when our 2 year old starts crying. What? The baby stole his oatmeal creme pie and he was NOT amused. Baby as you can see was happy and completely enjoying his snagged treat. Especially since he wasn't really eating solid food yet.

Painting my husband
Oh the craziness that has ensued us as we try to finish the kitchen. It still needs one more coat of paint. Someday.

Fireplace Bookcase
It's hard to find pictures that you can see without kids hanging out in front of. Oh well, I guess I could take new pictures, but I am feeling a little lazy. We made homemade butter and bread tonight and it took most of the day but it was divine. We need a cow. That would be perfect for us. I get disgusted every time I go pick up milk it just seems outrageous how much we pay for milk. Fresh butter is sooo much better anyway.
